According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 6, 2016, the creation of new and strengthening the activities of existing business associations is considered one of the main objectives of the “Strategic Roadmap for the Production of Consumer Goods at the Level of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in the Republic of Azerbaijan.” On August 4, 2020, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan established the Union of Commercial Legal Entities “Azerbaijan Builders and Manufacturers Association” (hereinafter – ATIA). The association was founded by several construction companies that have earned a prominent position in the construction market through years of hard work, following the aforementioned Strategic Roadmap, with the support of the “Association of Manufacturers of Construction Products of Azerbaijan” and other construction projects. It was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan on October 5, 2020, under registration number 1120-Q74-3858. The Association of commercial legal entities is a non-profit organization united by common interests, voluntariness, and the principles of legal equality among its participants (members).

ATIA is a platform that protects the interests of its members, provides them with valuable resources, and promotes the development of the construction sector through the exchange of experiences, ideas, and initiatives.

The primary goal of ATIA is to actively participate in the development of the construction sector in Azerbaijan, to establish and systematize unified standards in the field of construction, to coordinate their implementation, to support the growth of construction companies operating in the Republic of Azerbaijan and members of the Union, to develop socio-economic, informational, and other development programs, to enhance scientific knowledge in this field, as well as to represent and protect their common interests. Additionally, the Union aims to create a unified platform for construction companies, establish and develop effective cooperative ties among construction companies, improve the quality of construction products and services, support the activities of its members in international construction markets, and actively participate in the organization of national construction exhibitions.

To achieve its objectives, ATIA carries out the following tasks:

– Establishing the necessary infrastructure to ensure the sustainable development of the construction industry in the Republic of Azerbaijan, including the construction of multi-apartment and individual residential buildings, various non-residential facilities, as well as bridges, tunnels, and other infrastructure projects;

– Coordinating the activities of commercial legal entities operating in this sector and consolidating their efforts to organize socially beneficial initiatives;

– Representing and safeguarding the interests of Union members within government institutions, while also serving as an intermediary between public organizations and governmental authorities;

– Fostering international (bilateral and multilateral) cooperation in the construction sector, analyzing global best practices, and promoting Azerbaijani expertise on the international stage.
