An event titled “Entrepreneurship Development is a Strong Economy” was held to mark Entrepreneurs’ Day.
Speeches were delivered by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Azer Amiraslanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Sahib Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBIA Orkhan Mammadov, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs’ (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, and Chairman of the Board of the Association of Builders and Manufacturers of Azerbaijan Ramiz Isayev.
The speakers highlighted the favorable business environment in the country, state support mechanisms, the activities of KOBIA in this field, as well as the growing role of the construction sector in the economy and new opportunities created by reconstruction efforts in the liberated territories.
It was emphasized that entrepreneurship is one of the key driving forces of the country’s economic development and makes a significant contribution to overall prosperity.
At the end of the event, an appeal to President Ilham Aliyev was adopted on behalf of the participants.
It should be noted that on April 25, 2002, National Leader Heydar Aliyev held historic meetings with local entrepreneurs and, in May, with foreign business representatives. By the decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated April 21, 2016, this date has been celebrated as “Entrepreneurs’ Day” in Azerbaijan.
