Baku to host the World Urban Forum in 2026

At the session of the Executive Board of the UN-Habitat Programme held in Kenya, it was announced that the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13) will be held in Baku in 2026. The Forum, one of the most prestigious events in the field of urban planning, will bring together government institutions, international organizations, the private sector, and experts. Global urbanization processes and the sustainable development of cities will be discussed here. It should be noted that the previous session, WUF11, was held in Katowice, Poland, in 2022, while the most recent session, WUF12, took place in Cairo, Egypt, in 2024.Baku’s opportunity to host the event can be considered yet another indicator of our country’s successful reforms in urban planning and its international reputation.
