On November 3, a meeting was held with members of public associations of entrepreneurs operating in various sectors, jointly organized by the Ministry of Justice and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA).
The event, dedicated to the topic “The impact of institutional and legislative innovations implemented in the field of justice on the development of entrepreneurship, as well as the role of the rule of law in ensuring the country’s sustainable development,” brought together representatives of nearly 20 business associations and entrepreneurs.
The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation between the public and private sectors, enhance support for business entities, and contribute to the further improvement of the entrepreneurial environment in the country.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Justice Farid Ahmadov discussed the legislative and institutional measures implemented in recent years to improve the functioning of the justice system, ensure transparency, and increase efficiency. The Minister noted that public-private partnership plays an important role in the development of various sectors, emphasizing that the proposals and initiatives put forward by the private sector make a valuable contribution to the reforms carried out within the Ministry’s areas of activity. It was underlined that the close involvement of entrepreneurs in the implementation of legal and institutional measures is of great importance for achieving the set objectives.
Chairman of the Board of KOBIA, Orkhan Mammadov, stated that since entrepreneurial activity is developing dynamically, new challenges and requirements must be adequately reflected in legislation. He noted that KOBIA closely monitors the institutional reforms being carried out in this field and communicates the legal needs and challenges of SMEs to the relevant government bodies. At the same time, thematic meetings and training sessions are organized to promote entrepreneurs’ legal awareness, cooperation is conducted with justice bodies to strengthen institutional dialogue, and proposals for improving legislation are submitted to the appropriate authorities. The participation of stakeholders — including entrepreneurs and business associations — is crucial in the development of the business environment and in the process of improving entrepreneurship-related legislation. As entrepreneurs’ proposals are based on practical needs, taking their opinions and suggestions into account enables the application of flexible and effective approaches in regulating economic activity.
During the meeting, the opinions and proposals of entrepreneurs were heard, and discussions were held on expanding cooperation. It was decided that the Ministry of Justice and KOBIA would ensure the joint implementation of these proposals in a working format and designate responsible representatives from both institutions for this purpose.
