These state standards define safety requirements for various levels of lifejackets and types of protective clothing, including protection against infectious agents, mechanical damage, and chemical exposure, as well as indicators for human resource management.
The aim of introducing these new national standards is to raise employee awareness of potential occupational hazards, ensure the physical and psychological well-being of workers, and reduce risks that negatively affect human life and health.
It should be noted that the new national standards were adopted by consensus within the Technical Committee for Standardization in the Field of Labour (AZSTAND/TK 21) and have been included in the State Fund of Normative Documents for Standardization by the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND).
