A Working Group has been established to support strategic urban planning projects for the development of Baku City until 2040
A decree signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov provides for the reconstruction of the areas around Lake Boyukshor in Baku, between Heydar Aliyev and Ziya Bunyadov avenues, as well as the areas surrounding the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery, based on approved conceptual projects within the framework of the public-private partnership model.
According to the decree, a Working Group has been established to support strategically important urban planning initiatives for the socio-economic development of Baku city. The Working Group has been tasked with creating the necessary conditions for investment in the implementation of these projects, agreeing on the terms of investment contracts, and carrying out other essential measures.
The objective is to attract investments into modern urban planning initiatives that ensure sustainable and inclusive urban development in Baku, including projects based on the concepts of a polycentric city and a “city within a city” (urban planning investment projects). Relevant government bodies (institutions) are to provide support to investors who have expressed an intention to implement such projects and coordinate them through an appropriate institutional framework.
